Clipza records your screen and gives you a link. Both halves of that sentence are straightforward; the space between them is where the engineering is. A sharing model has to be understood instantly by the person sending the link and be strict enough that a guessed URL reveals nothing.

Screen recording tools require ultra-fast upload paths while maintaining strict access control and robust abuse protection.

What I Built

Engineering Approach:

  • Direct-to-storage uploads bypassing the application server

  • Unguessable identifiers with server-side authorization checks

  • Edge rate limiting and bot detection via Arcjet
